If you’re nearby Aoraki you’ve got to take in the stunning views of Mt Cook. There are loads of easy walking tracks around that area. We did the Hooker Valley track which is a 3 hour return track. It was pretty unique with an abundance of photogenic rocks and low lying bush framed with mountains. However we felt the track was very samey (and once you’ve crossed one suspension bridge you feel you’ve crossed them all) and we weren’t overwhelmed by the view at the turn around point. So I think if you’ve only got a short amount of time this is still worth doing- you could turn back a little way past the first suspension bridge and not miss out on much!

While in the area stop by the stunning, cyan Lake Tekapo; a top spot for some fab couple/jump shots.
