This is it! The big one!! The mothership! People queue hours for these burgers and they’re what Queenstown is famous for and we couldn’t pass through there without trying one.

We went at about 10:30am, and the wait time was about 5 mins to order.

Staff (and the system) are incredibly efficient.

You get a number on your ticket and wait for that to be called/come up on the screen. The food took about 20mins to make.

Obviously most people wait much longer than that to order....but I wonder whether staff can keep up with this pace all day so that once you’ve ordered the wait for your food is no longer than half an hour?? From 11:30 onwards the queue is pretty brutal.

In terms of the food- the chips were excellent. Perfectly seasoned (in my opinion #salty) and the sauces are quality-hard to say whether the aioli or sweet chilli is superior.

By the time we ate the burgers they were a little cold (because we faffed around trying to find a nice place to sit outdoors) but we still felt they were first class burgers....just imagine how great they would’ve been hot!

Probably the best burger bun I’ve ever eaten...I ate my burger over the course of many hours (because it was so big!) and the bun was barely soggy at the end. Excellent bun integrity, yet it was soft and tasted good.

VERY saucy burger, no skimping here. And like the sauces for the chips it tasted great.

The veg was very fresh and their pickle game is strong.

The bacon was cooked really well and my only criticism is that the cheese paled into insignificance and it was hard to know it was there at all.

The beef patty was moist and well seasoned, overall an excellent burger!
