Dunedin

Lovely sleepy seaside city. Great beaches and surfing spots. Check out the Otago Museum in town, an excellent science section as well as changing exhibits (currently a James Cameron exhibition, Challenging the Deep) but my absolute fave was the butterfly house (best one I’ve been to!).

While in town it’s worth making the 50 minute drive out to the peninsula to the Royal Albatross Centre, also the sight of the pukekura little blue penguins.

Dunedin is home to the world’s steepest street....but I have to say it was thoroughly unimpressive.
